Rue
Ruta graveolens
Perennial herb - Delicate yellow flowers on silvery-blue foliage. Makes a lovely border plant or harvest for cut flowers. Flowers last well in the vase. Strong, interesting smell that some love and some dislike. Old-fashioned herb plant but should not be taken internally. Cut it back to a few inches each winter and it comes back just fine in the spring. Lots of stems and flowers per plant. 12” spacing.
Grown by Alyssa O'Sullivan at Sweet Alyssum Farm on Vashon Island.
Start in Fall and Early Spring to get earlier blooms in the Spring. Transplant or or direct sowing works well too,
Consult your medicinal herb resources for how to use this plant as medicine.
