Zebrune Shallot

I truly love shallots and a long time back, I realized through trial and error that they grow best for me from seed rather than sets.  There are few varieties of Open Pollinated Shallot seed out there so when I found and trialed Zebrune I was thrilled.  This is a prolific, blush red, oblong “banana-type” shallot.  Start them early in late Winter, February where I am, plant them out in April or so and harvest plump beautiful shallots in the late Summer, early Fall with your onions.  
These store well if you can keep from eating them all.
