Tithonia, Torch

Tithonia rotundafolia

Tall and bushy, covered with bright red flowers that attract a wide variety of pollinators and predatory insects, Tithonia is a must for the edges of the garden.  I love the bright flowers in bloom over a long period from Summer to Fall.  The tall stout structure and large protein filled seeds attract many species of birds as the seeds develop.  These can be used for cut flowers but I leave mine to the seed harvest and the wild creatures.

Start when soils have warmed in late Spring, Tithonia is a heat lover.  Transplants well.  Space plants at least 12" apart.  75 days to maturity

Packet contains~50 seeds
