My most popular head lettuce by far, Mervielle is almost too beautiful to eat. Originally from France, the buttery leaves and stunning bring green and dark red color arrangement will stop you in your tracks. The heads are quite solid and were uniform in the field and they taste just as lovely and smooth as they look. Great for Spring and Summer growing.  I grew a fresh seed crop in 2024.  These survived well in the seed production phase when we had rain in late August and I lost other lettuce types to mold.   Grow them and begin to adapt them to your garden this year!
