Giant Greek Runner Bean

Giant Greek Runner Bean

Phaseolus coccineus

65 days for fresh broad beans, 85-90 for dry beans.

These high climbing runner beans will top out an 8 foot trellis so be sure to give them room to run! This variety is primarily grown to eat in the dry bean stage. They produce a large quantity of very large, white beans used in many traditional Greek soups and stews. These seeds came to me from the seed swap on Vashon Island a few years ago. I thought it was Lotus who brought them but she swears she didn't’ so if you know who did please reach out! They are a great addition to an interesting and intriguing bean collection.
